Le grande finale at long last ...
This took quite some time to complete I must say, I thought it would never end. However I am very pleased with the outcome....
Those little brass lamps are quite tricky to photo, took the longest to paint, and now they are shy of the camera. The metallic paint makes them look 'brassy' as they should, they shine and shimmer in all light, especially lamplight - the painting would look really wow with an uplighter or downlighter ...
Inspired by a trip to New York in December 2008, and a visit to the library (of all places!) Initially the most beautiful Christmas Tree caught my eye (surprise!), but the building itself is utterly magnificant, and in fact I spent quite some time in awe of this grand, majestic beauty, and I knew one day this could end up on a canvas ...
I am also featured in this painting, right at the front pretending to look intellectual (as you do), but I had to change my hair colour slightly, as I was blonde at the time, and that blended in too much. Never been one to change my hair colour much, as you may know :)
This is only a tiny piece of the New York Public Library, look it up on line and you will see what I am talking about, its quite something ...
Happy eve all, and thanks for reading my little blog.
Until we meet again!
