I've shocked myself! Truly
As many of you know, the only paintings of our fury friends that I can do, are part of a larger painting and normally the animals are in the background and quite small, if any at all.
I've always said, 'I can't paint animals'.
Earlier this year we had to say goodbye to our senior girl kitty cat, and it was an incredibly heart felt, sad emotional time for us. She was 17 years of age and two months, and we still miss her so so so much.
As you will know, if you've ever lost a pet, how devastating it is right? They are part of the family, and saying goodbye to them is just the worst thing, ever!
I have had 'Artist Block' this year, but my girl suddenly inspired me, along with our other kitties that we have had the pleasure of being part of our family, over the decades.
So ... having never tried the art of painting fur and animals, I'm incredibly happy with the outcome. Below is just a little part of how I got to, where I got to :-
Here are my dear heavenly kitties:-
And this is the grand finale:

I now have Imposter Syndrome big time! I'm so pleased and thrilled with the outcome 🥰😍😘 ...
There will be more to come, now I know I can kindof paint them ... may even try pet portraits if I get an enquiry, who knows!
Next challenge that I have set myself for this year is portraiture! I am, as ever, in awe of how on earth artists paint a person's face. I've watched so many on TV, youtube etc etc etc, and always been astounded at how clever it is, and always wondered if I could, if I should, and why not!? The nearest I ever got, was a pencil drawing of my teen boyfriend, and he seemed quite pleased with it (I think), I mean ... I thought it was pretty good too at the time :) ...
I suspect I should start with myself (so as not to insult anyone!!) , so watch this space, thanks for reading and have a super eve lovely people.
Please feel free to join the app, I get a few messages from peeps, which I truly appreciate and it really does spur me on to keep trying and keep ticking my goals ...
Have fun in whatever your up to and keep smiling, and finding the best in what you do, it makes you feel so much better.
