To Procrastinate ... to the finish line!!

Someone once told me this interesting word, in a sentence, over the phone (in my young naive days), many years ago ... I had to put her on hold (and grab an actual dictionary with pages) to see what it meant, before any action was required on my part! Oh dear I thought ...

So ... most of you will know the meaning ... 'to delay or postpone action, put off doing something'

Apparently there are four types of procrastination:-

i. Anxious procrastination

ii. Fun procrastination

iii. 'Plenty of time' procrastination

iv. Perfectionist procrastination

I have used all of these 'types' throughout the process of this painting, and enjoyed almost every minute.

As anticipated, I knew the mono colour scheme would, and did, show up every little mistake. A slight of hand, a smudge on the black, a dot in the wrong place, a dab of metallics, silver, white .. more black, mix some greys, add more metallics ... Oh my word! It has had its up and downs this one, but that's the fun of trying to get it right, isn't it?

It's not an easy one to photo either. I added a few hints

of grey 'whooooshes' to the background, which when photoed, seem to appear brighter than it actually is.

Regardless, I am very pleased with the outcome. Oddly,

This took longer than my other bubble painting, which may

surprise you.

So 'Bubblemania'

meets ...
